In Melbourne, we have an Armenoro Social Club and my father is a member and friend of the committee. I have set up a Facebook page for the Armenoro SC which also runs a Senior Citizens Association where older Armenortsi gather on a weekly bases to enjoy a cooked lunch. The aim of the Facebook page is to get the younger generation interested and hope to get them to become members so we can remembers our ancestors and where they came from.

Thanks for your article.

Regards
Nick Stavrou Nicholashttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10105687964837342510noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2342477047374839017.post-4764178112772775922012-06-21T18:04:48.290-04:002012-06-21T18:04:48.290-04:00Nice to hear from you, fellow Armenohorian. It had been closed for several years and it just reopened today for pedestrian traffic only to let people go across to the tsairi for the village festival. I am also from Armenohori...I remember all of the things that you have spoken about...
I still have relatives in the viliage.
I am getting old now and my hair is turning a silver colour ((( I still have plenty of it left..))).
Yes I agree with you that Alexander the Great would have visited and passed through our villiage many times... I am also certain that he got a lot of his cavalry training in the surrounding feilds around our villiage...
Our villiage has a lot more history to it than many people realise...
Bucephalos was a special guest in our villiage as well...
The greatest military commander the world has ever known was a frequent guest in our villiage...
May his body be found for the world wherever it is...
May god rest his soul whereever it is...!!!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
